Ideally suited for use in school and park playgrounds. The specially designed impact absorbing under structure provides protection underfoot for children at play.
When used as grass retention the design enhances grass growth in high traffic areas such as walkways. Drainage efficiency is also increased.
The tiles are easily laid, aesthetically appealing, environmentally friendly and are manufactured from recycled flexible PVC and rubber.
Manufactured in NZ and complies with NZ, Australia, Britain and US standards. Test reports available on request. The components of this system are guaranteed against faulty manufacture for a period of 5 years.
Adequate machine compaction is necessary to provide a firm base for the tiles. The site should be raised from the centre to allow drainage. The surface must be free of humps or hollows. Quality grass seed is sown on the prepared site which is then covered with Oyster mesh.
Ground conditions can vary, to achieve a more consistent “safe fall height” the use of a perforated shock pad is recommended, on which the tiles are then laid.
The interlocking system is easy to lay. Security spikes are placed around the perimeter of the installation using the recessed holes provided (approximately 3 per mat). This gives added protection against vandalism.
Finally finish to the edge of the mat by feathering out soil approximately 500mm (20in) to slightly above the top of the mat to give a smooth mowing edge. Oversow with quality grass seed. After grass is established, mow regularly with a conventional lawn mower and catcher.
NB: Liberal and frequent watering is essential for optimum grass growth.
